Role Description

Freelance Digital & Technology Assessors will conduct assessments for apprentices across a range of digital and technology standards, ensuring assessments are fair, robust, and aligned with regulatory and awarding body requirements. In this full-time remote role, independent assessors will review portfolios and project work, lead professional discussions, and observe practical assessments using online platforms and digital tools. They will prepare clear, evidence-based assessment reports, provide constructive feedback to apprentices and training providers, and adhere to quality assurance processes and deadlines. The role also involves staying current with digital and technology industry trends, maintaining assessment documentation, and collaborating with DSW’s quality and operations teams to support continuous improvement in assessment practices.

  • Assessment and quality skills, such as experience in End Point Assessment, vocational assessment, and working to regulated standards.
  • Digital and technology knowledge, including practical experience in IT, digital platforms, software, or technology-enabled services.
  • Education and training capabilities, such as coaching, mentoring, or delivering learning in apprenticeships or professional qualifications.
  • Communication and stakeholder skills, including clear written reporting, professional discussions, and confident engagement with apprentices, employers, and providers.
  • Organisational and remote-working skills, including time management, self-direction, and proficiency with online assessment and collaboration tools.
  • Relevant professional or academic qualifications, such as an assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA or equivalent) and a digital/technology or financial services-related qualification.
  • Experience in the financial services or regulated sectors is highly beneficial, as is familiarity with apprenticeship standards and ESFA or EPAO requirements.
