The Role

As a Freelance Employability & Construction Skills Trainer, your role will be to inspire, support and mentor learners as they progress towards employment. You’ll deliver engaging sessions that develop:

  • Confidence
  • Workplace skills
  • Readiness for successful careers in construction and the wider built environment

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging employability and construction-related training.
  • Support learners to overcome barriers and build confidence.
  • Prepare learners for interviews, work experience, and employment.
  • Work with employers to create progression opportunities.
  • Maintain learner records and awarding body documentation where required.
  • Act as a positive role model throughout each learner’s journey.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training (or equivalent teaching qualification).
  • Experience in delivering employability programmes or supporting people into work.
  • A passion for helping people build successful careers.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Safeguarding training.
  • Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel across Wales.

Desirable (Bonus)

  • Construction industry experience.
  • Assessor or Internal Quality Assessor (IQA) qualifications.
  • Experience delivering CSCS, Health & Safety, or vocational programmes.
  • Knowledge of funded employability programmes.
  • Existing employer links within construction or related sectors.
