Freelance Fire Risk Assessor

Freelance Fire Risk Assessor – Healthcare Sector

Location: Nationwide (UK-wide travel required)

Contract Type: Freelance / Rolling Contract Duration: Ongoing Commitment: Full-Time (5 Days per Week)

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Fire Risk Assessor to support a nationwide programme of fire safety compliance works across healthcare facilities throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional with a strong background in healthcare environments to join a long-term project on a full-time rolling contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Fire Risk Assessments across a portfolio of healthcare sites nationwide.
  • Produce clear, comprehensive and compliant Fire Risk Assessment reports.
  • Develop prioritised action plans and recommendations to address identified risks.
  • Deliver fire safety awareness and compliance training to on-site staff and management teams.
  • Provide practical guidance on:
    • Fire safety legislation
    • Healthcare standards
    • Best practice
  • Liaise with site stakeholders and project teams to ensure assessments are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments within healthcare environments.
  • Relevant fire safety qualifications and competency certifications.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Current fire safety legislation
    • Healthcare compliance requirements
  • Experience producing detailed Fire Risk Assessment reports and remedial action plans.
  • Previous experience delivering fire safety training to staff groups.
  • Excellent:
    • Communication skills
    • Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

  • Membership of a recognised professional fire safety body.
  • Experience working across:
    • NHS
    • Private healthcare estates
  • Knowledge of:
    • HTM fire safety guidance
    • Healthcare-specific regulations
