Freelance Fire Risk Assessor – Healthcare Sector Location: Nationwide (UK-wide travel required) Contract Type: Freelance / Rolling Contract Duration: Ongoing Commitment: Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
A Freelance Fire Risk Assessor is required to support a nationwide healthcare fire safety compliance programme. This is a dynamic opportunity for a qualified professional to join a long-term rolling contract.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Risk Assessor specialising in healthcare environments to conduct comprehensive fire safety assessments across a wide variety of UK healthcare facilities. The role will involve producing detailed reports, training staff, and working closely with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) for multiple healthcare sites nationwide.
- Write clear, compliant, and actionable fire assessment reports.
- Compile prioritised action plans with recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Deliver fire safety awareness training to on-site teams and management.
- Provide guidance on fire safety legislation, standards, and best practice.
- Collaborate with site stakeholders to streamline assessments efficiently.
- Maintain accurate regulatory documentation.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven expertise in assessing fire risks within healthcare settings.
- Hold relevant fire safety qualifications and competency certifications.
- Deep understanding of healthcare fire compliance regulations.
- Practical experience in writing detailed reports and action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to train staff in fire safety.
- Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel countrywide.

Desirable:
- Membership of a professional fire safety bodies (e.g., IFSM, BAFE).
- Experience in both NHS and private healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with HTM fire safety guidance and sector-specific regulations.
