About the Role

We are partnering with a leading global life sciences consultancy that supports pharmaceutical and biotech organisations in developing market access, health economics, and evidence generation strategies spanning the entire product lifecycle.

They are seeking a Freelance HEOR Consultant / HTA Statistician with experience in advanced analytics and evidence synthesis to support a variety of projects.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct advanced evidence synthesis projects, including:
    • Network meta-analyses (NMA)
    • Indirect treatment comparisons (ITC)
    • Mixed treatment comparisons (MTC)
    • Pairwise meta-analyses
  • Design and execute statistical analyses across:
    • Clinical trial data
    • Real-world data (e.g., survival analyses, utility analyses, regression-based methodologies)
  • Develop and review:
    • Systematic literature review outputs
    • Feasibility assessments
    • Network diagrams
    • Study heterogeneity assessments
  • Apply advanced quantitative methodologies such as:
    • MAICs (Matched Adjusted Indirect Comparison)
    • Simulated treatment comparisons
    • Meta-regression models
    • Surrogate outcome assessments
    • Single-arm trial analyses (where appropriate)
  • Contribute to methodological innovation, thought leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives in:
    • Advanced analytics
    • Evidence synthesis

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as:
    • Statistics
    • Biostatistics
    • Health Economics
    • Mathematics
    • Related fields

Experience

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience delivering HTA (Health Technology Assessment), evidence synthesis, or advanced analytics projects within a consultancy or CRO (Contract Research Organisation) environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with statistical software and tools, including:
    • R
    • Python
    • SAS
    • WinBugs
    • Stata

Contractual Details

  • Hours: Flexible 5 days per week (adjustable as needed)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Location: Remote (UK & Europe)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months, with high potential for extension
  • Tax Status: Outside IR35 where applicable (for UK-based contractors)
