Join an exciting creative project focused on developing a cohesive visual identity for a dark fantasy and sci-fi universe spanning a book, podcast, mobile game, and board game. This role requires a versatile illustrator with a passion for hyperrealistic and retro-inspired artwork. You will be responsible for producing a full-color book cover in the style of Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo, as well as a series of character portraits and color illustrations reminiscent of Alexey Gorboot. Your work will play a key role in establishing the visual tone and appeal of this multi-platform media project.
Deliverables
One full-color book cover (6 x 9 inches) in a hyperrealistic style inspired by Frazetta and Vallejo Five black and white line-art character portraits Five color images (approx. 3.5 x 4.5 inches) in the style of Alexey Gorboot All artwork must reflect a dark fantasy and sci-fi aesthetic, maintaining consistency with the project's visual inspirations Collaboration with the project lead to ensure alignment with the creative vision and narrative themes

Requirements
Proven experience as an illustrator with a strong portfolio demonstrating hyperrealistic and retro fantasy/sci-fi artwork Proficiency in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent) Ability to emulate the styles of Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, and Alexey Gorboot Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and character design Excellent communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback Availability to deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines Experience working on book covers or media-related illustration projects is a plus Open to remote collaboration; local candidates may be considered for in-person meetings if preferred
