Field Service Engineer / Installation Technician
Freelance Contract | Europe-wide | August 2026 - December 2026
About the Role
We're partnering with a global leader in medical devices to support the roll-out of equipment across hospitals and clinical facilities throughout Europe.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on device installations and reporting. Successful consultants will be responsible for travelling to customer sites, completing straightforward installations, carrying out a basic functionality check alongside the client's local representative, and documenting the work completed.
While travel will be extensive, assignments may vary depending on project demand. Engineers could spend several consecutive weeks supporting activity within a single country or region before moving to another territory as installation schedules evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Install medical devices at hospitals and healthcare facilities across Europe.
- Perform basic functionality checks to confirm the device is operating correctly following installation.
- Work closely with local client representatives during the installation process.
- Submit clear and accurate installation reports within 24 hours of each completed visit.
- Ensure all installations are completed to the highest quality standards and in line with project timelines.
- Represent the client professionally when interacting with healthcare customers and stakeholders.
- Travel regularly throughout Europe as required by the project.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Installation Technician, Service Technician, Medical Device Technician, or similar field-based role.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills with a professional and approachable manner.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organised.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a travel-heavy schedule.
- Basic technical and IT skills, including the ability to connect equipment to a network and perform simple system checks.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Fluent English is essential.
- Additional European languages are highly desirable, particularly German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, or other local languages.

Contract Details
- Start Date: August 2026
- End Date: December 2026
- Location: Open to candidates based anywhere in Europe
- Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
- Working Pattern: Approximately 40 hours per week
- Travel: Extensive European travel required, including flights, hotels, trains, and driving between customer sites
- Expenses: Travel and accommodation expenses reimbursed in line with project requirements
