About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) with Personal Training qualifications to support the launch and initial delivery of a new qualification in a freelance, full-time pro rata role. The ideal candidate will contribute to curriculum development, internal quality assurance, and overall delivery quality from the ground up.
This role aligns with our QCCI framework (Quality Led, Compliant, Commercial and Impactful), ensuring that decisions focus on excellence, conformance, business viability, and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct IQA activity across the new Personal Training qualification, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
- Support curriculum development, providing technical input to structure the programme and align it with qualification requirements.
- Review teaching, learning, and assessment materials, verifying they meet industry and awarding body standards.
- Sample learner work, offering clear IQA feedback to assessors and tutors while maintaining valid, reliable, and consistent assessment decisions.
- Drive standardisation meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance delivery standards.
- Collaborate closely with tutors, assessors, curriculum leads, and quality teams to uphold compliance.
- Ensure all training delivery meets awarding body requirements, internal policies, and external compliance standards.
- Influence the qualification’s commercial viability, learner engagement, and employer relevance. -Maintain accurate IQA records, sampling plans, and quality documentation for audits and future reference.

Mandatory Requirements
- A recognised IQA qualification (e.g., V1, IQA or equivalent).
- A valid Personal Training qualification.
- Proven experience in internally quality assuring fitness, sport, or personal training qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of awarding body frameworks and benchmarking criteria.
- Experience reviewing curriculum materials or supporting qualification development.
- Ability to navigate quality assurance frameworks, sampling plans, and compliance documentation.
- Availability for a freelance, full-time pro rata workload.

Desirable Experience
- A recognised assessing qualification.
- Experience launching or developing new qualifications.
- Familiarity with adult education, funded training, or commercial fitness programs.
- An innovative mindset with an understanding of learner outcomes and industry employer needs.
