Our Media & Communications Division encompasses four specialist tracks — Editorial & Journalism, Creator & On-Camera, PR & Distribution, and Owned Media & Publications — each built to develop ambitious media professionals and deliver high-impact content.
Wentworth Wire is WBG's flagship editorial and journalism platform, publishing sharp, engaging content across business, technology, culture, and current affairs. We are looking for talented Freelance Journalists to contribute to the Wentworth Wire and help shape our editorial voice.
About the Role
We are seeking a Freelance Journalist to join WBG's Media & Communications Division under the Editorial & Journalism track. This is a remote, flexible, commission-based role — you will be paid for every piece of published content, meaning your earnings reflect your output, quality, and consistency.
This opportunity is ideal for working journalists, recent graduates, bloggers, or skilled writers who want to build a published portfolio on a professional editorial platform while earning commission on every article.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and write articles, features, interviews, and opinion pieces for Wentworth Wire
- Pitch original story ideas and editorial angles to the WBG editorial team
- Conduct interviews and source expert commentary for published content
- Ensure all work meets WBG's editorial standards for accuracy, clarity, and style
- Meet agreed publishing targets and editorial deadlines
- Collaborate with the wider Media & Communications team on cross-platform projects
- Stay informed on trending topics and emerging stories across your specialist areas
What We Are Looking For
- Strong written English with a flair for storytelling, research, and clear communication
- A genuine passion for journalism, editorial content, or media
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
- Comfortable pitching ideas, working to deadlines, and managing your own workload
- Familiarity with digital publishing, SEO basics, or content management systems is a plus
- Previous writing experience (professional, freelance, university, or personal) is valued but not essential — talent and drive matter most
