This role is focused on designing, building, and enhancing robust software systems for US-based clients. You will take ownership of complex features, backend services, APIs, databases, and integrations, guiding projects from initial requirements through release and ongoing maintenance. The position requires a strong foundation in software engineering, hands-on experience with modern web applications, and the ability to architect secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. Experience in privacy-sensitive sectors or SaaS platforms is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex software features and backend services
- Architect and implement APIs, databases, and integrations for production applications
- Improve and maintain existing systems, ensuring reliability and scalability
- Guide implementation quality and enforce secure coding practices
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Oversee deployment and long-term maintenance of software systems
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies

Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience as a software engineer working on modern web applications and backend systems
- Proficiency in Python and Java for backend development
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns and system architecture
- Experience with cloud deployments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expertise in database design, management, and optimization
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and privacy-sensitive environments
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with SaaS platforms or healthcare industry is advantageous
- Availability for full-time contract work, remote
