Freelance Working Foreman – Cheltenham (On-Site Project)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Working Foreman to lead a high-quality, bespoke residential development in Cheltenham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on construction professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, bringing expertise and initiative to deliver a one-off project to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will inspire teams by leading from the front, managing daily operations, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining outstanding safety, quality, and workmanship.
As a Working Foreman, you will be on-site, engaged in trades coordination, resolving issues swiftly, and driving all works to meet the client and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations and effectively coordinate subcontractors
- Oversee trade teams, ensuring they remain on schedule and deliver high-quality work
- Conduct hands-on general building work where needed
- Enforce and maintain strict health and safety compliance across the site
- Liaise regularly with the project manager, suppliers, and clients to align expectations
- Monitor project quality control, ensuring all works meet the specified standards
- Organise logistical elements such as deliveries, site materials, and equipment workflows

Requirements
We are seeking candidates with:
✔ Proven experience as a Working Foreman in construction projects ✔ A strong background in traditional building trades, with hands-on expertise ✔ Valid CSCS card (with SSSTS or SMSTS certification preferred) ✔ First Aid qualifications (desirable) ✔ Excellent organisational and communication skills ✔ The ability to work independently, resolve issues proactively, and lead by example ✔ Own transport (essential) and where possible, personal toolset

Project Details
📍 Location: Cheltenham (Gloucestershire) ⚡ Start Date: Immediate (or by mutual agreement) 🗓 Duration: Approximately 6 months contract 💰 Daily Rate: £220–£240 per day (8-hour day)
