Freight Forwarder Shannon
Mon-Fri, 09.00-17.30, 37.5 hours
Are you an experienced freight forwarding professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment? Do you enjoy coordinating complex shipments, solving operational challenges, and delivering exceptional customer service?
We are looking for a Freight Forwarder to join our Cross Trade Operations team in Ireland. In this role, you will manage international shipments across air, ocean, and road freight, ensuring customers benefit from complete visibility, proactive communication, and reliable service throughout the supply chain.
You will play a key role in keeping goods moving efficiently across global markets while supporting customers with innovative solutions and operational excellence.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinating international shipments from booking through to final delivery.
- Providing end-to-end visibility across the supply chain, including suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners.
- Ensuring all activities are managed in line with agreed service levels, KPIs, SOPs, revenue targets, and cost parameters.
- Monitoring shipment progress and proactively communicating updates to customers and stakeholders.
- Identifying potential supply chain disruptions and implementing solutions before they impact customer operations.
- Supporting collaborative information sharing and real-time communication across all parties involved in the transport process.
- Ensuring all operational documentation and administrative requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Using freight management systems, booking platforms, and tracking tools to manage shipments effectively.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to departmental, branch, and company objectives.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and international colleagues.

About you
- Experience in freight forwarding within Ireland, with strong knowledge of air, ocean, and road freight operations.
- Experience managing international shipments, freight management systems, booking platforms, and track-and-trace tools.
- Strong understanding of freight rates, carrier networks, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- IAA Aviation Security trained and compliant with relevant industry regulations.
- Results-driven, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
Desirable
- Import and export freight forwarding experience.
- Experience across multiple transport modes and industry sectors.
- Logistics and distribution industry experience.
- Experience working with operational KPI reporting and performance management.
- Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience
