Join Our Growing Team
Euroasia Maritime Agencies in Southampton is seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Operator to join our Import Operations Team.
As part of the JAG UFS Group, we manage a diverse portfolio of freight movements and specialise in food and animal products requiring Port Health inspections and regulatory compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a highly experienced team and build a long-term career within a dynamic, family-run and growing logistics organisation.
The Role
Working closely with our Operations Team, you will support the complete freight forwarding lifecycle for key customer accounts, managing shipments primarily via Sea Freight and European Road Freight.

You will play a key role in ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly and to the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing shipments from booking through to final delivery.
- Booking freight with shipping lines, hauliers and other service providers.
- Coordinating and arranging haulage requirements.
- Creating customs clearances via our in-house customs system.
- Preparing and processing shipping and customs documentation.
- Handling specialised import, customs and Port Health documentation where required.
- Ensuring all customs procedures and compliance requirements are followed.
- Tracking and monitoring shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, transport providers and government agencies.
- Maintaining high levels of customer service and client satisfaction.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong logistics background, ideally gained within a freight forwarding environment, and be able to demonstrate a broad operational understanding of international freight movements.
You will be organised, proactive, detail-oriented and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you will be keen to develop a long-term career within the freight and logistics industry.

Preferred Criteria
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Freight Operator.
- Experience handling Sea Freight import shipments.
- Basic knowledge of customs procedures and import formalities.
- Experience dealing with Port Health requirements would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Positive, professional and flexible attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
