French Language Assistant to work in a secondary school
18 Hours per Week
September 2026 Start
Term Time Only
A successful and high-achieving secondary school in North East London is looking to appoint a French Language Assistant to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is passionate about languages and wants to gain valuable experience working in a secondary school setting.
The French Language Assistant Role
- Working with small groups of students to improve their spoken and written French
- Providing targeted support to GCSE students ahead of examinations
- Building students confidence with speaking, pronunciation and conversational French
- Supporting teachers within a successful and well-established MFL department
- Helping students make strong academic progress and develop a love of languages
- 18 hours per week, term time only
- September 2026 start

The Successful French Language Assistant Will
- Have strong French language skills
- Have experience working with secondary-aged students, or a clear interest in pursuing a teaching career
- Be confident, organised and able to build positive relationships with young people
- Have a genuine passion for education and supporting student achievement
