Chilled Pubs are on the search for Fresh Food Preparation Assistant at our central production hub to join our ever-growing family. With ample opportunities on the horizon this could be the perfect company to evolve in your career.
What will I be doing?
Food safety is a number 1 priority across Chilled Pubs. You must ensure our compliance processes are always followed. You will be essential in ensuring quality food is delivered to our pubs. This includes checking our fresh produce deliveries and removing any items which do not meet the required quality criteria. You will be assigned a particular station to work at for the duration of your shift, this could be the dessert station which involves making a variety of the Chilled Pubs puddings, including our home-made fresh gelato, cookie dough balls and sticky toffee puddings. The raw meat section, where you’d be responsible for the prep and packaging of different meats, including marinating, and assembling our hanging skewers, or the pizza section which involves the prep of all our toppings and sauces. You will need to support the Hub team with any deliveries, offloading and loading the vans ready for our twice daily pub drops. You may need to support the wider team with food prep in other sections, therefore you will need to be comfortable working with all food products.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
