About the Role

At Asda, as a Fresh Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of all areas of the Fresh department in-store.

Your key focus will be delivering:

  • The best availability
  • Highest shop floor standards
  • Brilliant execution
  • Waste and date code compliance
  • Ensuring the store remains safe and legal for customers and colleagues

You’ll also:

  • Lead the shrink agenda through your Fresh team.
  • Drive standards and inputs.
  • Act on opportunities via clear actions.

Responsibilities

Drive strategy into action:

  • Plan and execute all trading activities on the shopfloor, ensuring:
    • Great availability and key metrics.
    • Cross-compliance with KPIs and success indicators.
    • Routine and process adherence.

Lead with impact:

  • Engage and coach your team to:
    • Constantly improve routine and process efficiency.
    • Foster a culture of selling with personality.
  • Deliver "one more item in every basket".
  • Serve customers with heart and pride.

Results-focused:

  • Ensure all shopfloor, promotional, and modular activity meets brief and timeline demands.
  • Align with the store’s selling agenda.

Requirements

  • Experience: Entry-level Team Leader or Supervisor in retail.
  • Operational knowledge: Proficiency in food or non-food departments.
  • Expertise:
    • Business impact: Improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
    • Team development and managing change through leadership and resilience-building.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organisation.
    • Exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including:
    • Weekends.
    • Evenings.
