Pop-up Hotels

Between June and September, Joivy manages buildings across the UK & Europe, repurposing them as short-term, seasonal hotels.


Purpose of the Role

This position is focused on:

  • Welcoming guests
  • Ensuring smooth guest check-ins and check-outs
  • Addressing guest queries promptly and professionally to enhance overall satisfaction
  • Prioritising excellent guest experiences: building trust and fostering repeat visits

Key communication channels include direct interaction, writing, Joivy’s communication platform, and phone.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining day-to-day operational excellence in hotel settings
    • Reviewing and monitoring daily arrivals list for special requests by guests
    • Ensuring all keys/cards are ready for arrivals
    • Reconciling keys/cards post-departure and reporting missing items
  • Collaborating with housekeeping team to equip rooms for guest arrivals
  • Assisting the maintenance team by reporting issues pre-stay, during, and post-guest departures
  • Managing guest communication:
    • Responding to inquiries sent via guest messages and reviews (across multiple platforms)
  • Conducting room checks to uphold the status, cleanliness, and readiness of all guest rooms before arrivals
  • Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety Policies via frequent checks in communal spaces
  • Assuming role of Fire Marshall, including responding appropriately to fire alarm activations
  • Occasionally supporting housekeeping team with duties
  • Providing high-level customer service to all guests entering our properties.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or customer service (operative focus on providing exceptional guest services).
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Fluent in English (C1 level, written and spoken) (Multilingual skills is a plus!).

Contract & Compensation

  • Fixed-term contract, operating at 40 hours per week (during Joivy’s hotel operating period)
  • Hourly rate: £13.50
  • Annual entitlements: 33 days, including Bank Holidays (equivalent of full-time annual leave entitlement)
