Receptionist for George Northwood Salon – W1 Overview

Since its launch in 2014, George Northwood's popularity has soared, having been included in countless ‘Best Salon’ round ups published by Vogue, The Telegraph, The Times and many more. We are now seeking a receptionist to join our growing team at our Fitzrovia salon.

You will be responsible for handing our client's journey from beginning to end, from booking appointments to managing the calendar and processing payments. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be the first point of contact for our diverse and interesting clientelle. You may currently work as a receptionist or in retail or hospitality, you will be interested in fashion, and a great communicator looking to become part of high performing but fun and kind team, at the forefront of the London hair scene.

George Northwood, the celebrated and expanding hairdressing brand, seeks a versatile Receptionist to work in a two-person Front of House team. Are you an enthusiastic individual with great people skills? Do you thrive in a busy and dynamic environment? We are looking for an exceptional candidate with proven success in a Receptionist / Front of House role. Candidates who can bring a warm, professionalism to the role as they interact with our customers both face to face and by telephone. You will be a key part of our business helping to maintain the high level of customer experience that is central to the George Northwood’s ethos. Specifically, we are looking for an individual who has relevant receptionist experience. An intelligent person who can multi-task, manage a lot of detail, and bring tact and common sense to this exciting role. Your skills and abilities will bring support and assistance to our valued clients and team members.

This role offers the possibility for career progression. Remuneration: Salary based on experience. Working Hours: Tuesday to Saturday – 9am to 6pm Location: Primarily London W1 with certain responsibilities at other London salons. Job Type: Permanent Role Education and Experience: Computer literacy with strong communication skills. Receptionist/Front of House experience essential. A professional attitude with experience working as part of a multi-level team. A candidate who is comfortable interacting with prestigious clients, in a service/customer-facing industry. Role Purpose: As Receptionist, you will work alongside another Receptionist and are fully accountable for the efficient and consistent support of the George Northwood team. You will provide essential assistance and support to our valued clients as well as liaising with the GN team members. You will maintain the columns for the Salon’s stylists and colourists, booking their time in a way that is logical and maximises the efficient running of their day. Responsibilities: · Master the opening and closing procedures for the salon. · Take bookings from clients. · Meeting/Greeting clients and service providers. · Process payments and manage the till accurately. · Coordinate stylists availability, optimising the appointment calendar to maximise productivity. · Efficiently handle multiple tasks at once, from answering calls to managing check-ins, ensuring that clients’ needs are met. · Providing accurate information to clients on available services. · Communicating clearly with team members. · Resolving any customer issues in a tactful and intelligent way. · Ensuring the Front Desk looks neat and tidy. · Being a professional representative of the brand at all times. · Having a very approachable manner. · Adapt quickly to last-minute changes in the schedule or unforeseen issues whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner. · Enjoying being part of a team that supports one another. Customer Support: · Demonstrate the highest standards of customer service both in face to face engagement in the salon and in electronic communications, setting best-in-class examples for other staff members.

Administration: · Completing any administrative tasks associated with the role in a timely and accurate manner. Requirements: As the Receptionist for George Northwood you are essentially an ambassador of the brand and your people skills are an integral part of the success of the business.

As the ideal candidate you will be organised and highly proactive. You will also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment maintaining your poise under pressure. As the Receptionist for this prestigious brand, you must be comfortable dealing with clients at all levels and have the personality and attitude to professionally engage with clients with high expectations.

You should be computer literate. As Receptionist you will have keen eye for detail.

A flexible attitude and excellent time management skills are essential - there will be occasions when working out of office or salon hours is required. Job Type: Permanent / Fulltime role. Onsite in W1 / with obligations to other salons within the GN brand Salary based on experience.
