About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer specializing in React and React Native to join our Digital Solutions team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to expanding our digital platform by developing intuitive, responsive, and accessible omni-channel services for our customers. Your expertise will be essential in designing and implementing scalable front-end solutions that align with business objectives and technical standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and other developers, to translate requirements into high-quality applications. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the digital landscape of Foresters Financial, ensuring our customer-facing systems are innovative, reliable, and user-friendly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing web applications using React JS and React Native.
  • Strong proficiency with Redux Toolkit for state management.
  • Solid understanding of modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience in building secure, customer-facing front-end applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with web services and integrate with external systems via APIs.
  • Experience designing or closely collaborating on API development.
  • Knowledge of.NET / C# is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to estimate, prioritize, and manage workloads efficiently across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications utilizing React, ensuring they are responsive, accessible, and user-friendly.
  • Support the development and support of mobile applications using React Native.
  • Integrate front-end components with backend services through RESTful APIs.
  • Deploy applications and support the release process into production environments.
  • Contribute to the architecture and overall design of front-end solutions, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with business teams and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and shape technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Estimate project timelines, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads effectively across the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure all solutions meet technical standards and align with business needs.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in web and mobile development.
  • Support and mentor other team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
