Front-End Engineer – Drivvn (Birmingham, Up to £50,000)
Company Overview
Drivvn is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company transforming the automotive industry with cutting-edge eCommerce solutions. Founded in 2020 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the TCC Group, Drivvn powers major automotive brands including Stellantis, Ford, Volvo, and Volkswagen, enabling seamless online vehicle buying experiences.
Recently, Drivvn has expanded into vehicle leasing, collaborating with MHC and Leasys. Its digital retail platform supports every stage of the automotive sales and leasing journey, from vehicle configuration to financing, with real-time integration and omnichannel capabilities.
Operating primarily in Europe, Drivvn generated ~£8 million in revenue (FY24) and plans for continued expansion.
Primary Purpose & Scope
As a Front-End Engineer, you will deliver delightful, production-ready customer experiences across our SaaS platform while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your role involves:
- Developing performing, scalable, and maintainable applications in a cloud-native environment.
- Fostering a culture of technical excellence and DevOps principles where engineers own their deliverables.
- Staying adaptable in our dynamic SaaS ecosystem with an open mindset toward technology choices.
Our front-end stack includes: JavaScript (TypeScript), React, Next.js, Nx – with a cloud-native architecture leveraging Kubernetes (AKS) for service deployment.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery & Quality
- Build and ship features collaboratively, ensuring clean, modular code with high test coverage.
- Translate UI/UX designs into performant, responsive, and accessible front-end components using:
- React, TypeScript, and CSS
- Best practices for component design, reusability, and optimisation
- Integrate UI components with APIs effectively, ensuring reliable data flow and proper error handling.
- Focus on Observable & maintainable builds, aligning with our DevOps culture.
Product Discovery & Collaboration
- Work closely with product teams on ideation and discovery, prioritising exceptional user experiences.
- Support production excellence by enforcing observability, monitoring, and performance standards.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and trade-off evaluations while contributing to proof-of-concepts.
User & Technical Edge
- Build mobile-first, responsive apps with a strong emphasis on:
- Core web vitals (loading speed, interactivity, accessibility)
- Sleek CSS architecture and performance optimisation
- Balance design aesthetic and technical trade-offs to create engaging digital experiences.
Team Growth & Innovation
- Learn from senior engineers while taking ownership of feature delivery.
- Foster a collaborative, adaptable mindset, driving continuous improvement.

About You
Core Technical Proficiencies
✅ Strong version control (Git), automated testing, and CI/CD skills in containerised environments ✅ Front-end JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency with experience in:
- React, Next.js, and styled components
- Component-based development
- Scalable frontend architecture ✅ Modern UI skills including:
- Mobile-first, responsive design
- CSS architecture & performance optimisation
- Web accessibility best practices ✅ Track record of delivering high-quality, visually appealing web experiences, balancing design and functionality
