Position Description

At CGI, we create digital solutions that help leading organisations transform how they operate, deliver services, and create lasting value. As a Front End Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and building intuitive, high-performing web applications that make a real difference for our clients and their users. Joining our growing Software Engineering Capability team in Scotland, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues on meaningful projects, contribute ideas that shape modern digital experiences, and have the opportunity to develop your expertise in a supportive environment where innovation, ownership, and continuous learning are part of everyday work.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance modern front-end applications that deliver seamless digital experiences for our clients. Working as part of collaborative Agile teams, you'll translate user and business requirements into responsive, accessible, and scalable solutions while partnering closely with UX designers, back-end engineers, product teams, and stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, champion engineering best practices, and contribute to the continual evolution of our front-end capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
