We are looking for a Front-End Technical Lead to join our TV & Digital Engineering team, supporting the delivery of innovative customer experiences across Sky’s TV platforms. This role plays a key part in shaping and delivering the digital journeys that power major partnerships and products, including integrations with leading streaming services such as Disney+ and HBO, as well as Sky’s own customer journeys across web and agent platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the technical lead to a team of engineers working cross-functionally in an agile environment.
- Provide leadership in the design and development of software components.
- Be a top-notch coder and an expert in the domain, capable of deep diving into components and features across the technology stacks.
- Be at the forefront of significant technology initiatives from inception to successful deployment.
- Help shape the technical direction and the improvement of tools and processes across the department.
- Champion quality assurance and best practices, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Coach and mentor Engineers from Associate to Senior level, helping them to develop and thrive in their careers.
- Collaborate with Design team(s) / Solution Architects, Principal Engineers, and other Tech Leads to understand forthcoming work and provide high level guidance and estimates.

What You’ll Bring
Essential criteria:
- Extensive client-side JavaScript experience with strong knowledge of React
- Excellent HTML & CSS skills
- Practical experience with GraphQL and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing)
- Experience with CI pipelines (e.g. Jenkins or similar tools)
- Hands-on experience with unit testing (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library)
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams / squads in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience with Tailwind CSS
- Ability to work hands-on across incidents, defects, spikes, prototyping, and proof-of-concepts
- Experience leading small to medium-sized squads (if not already demonstrated at scale)
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration (architecture, DevOps, data, product, delivery teams)

How You’ll Work
