About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Front-End Web Developer to join our client's dynamic software development team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. This role is based in High Wycombe with a hybrid working model, offering flexibility and the chance to work in a collaborative environment focused on innovative technology solutions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated browser-based applications that deliver seamless, real-time communication experiences. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in front-end development, with proven experience in building responsive and user-centric web applications. Essential qualifications include proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+), along with practical knowledge of real-time data handling techniques such as Server-Sent Events (SSE). Experience with RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and web accessibility standards is required. A good understanding of cross-browser compatibility and web performance optimization is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with WebSockets, experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue, and exposure to conference or unified communications technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modern, responsive web applications that meet user needs and technical standards.
- Create intuitive and accessible user interfaces utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Implement real-time browser functionalities using JavaScript and Server-Sent Events (SSE) to support live updates and communication features.
- Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into functional solutions.
- Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and real-time data services to enable seamless data flow and user interactions.
- Ensure all applications are compatible across various browsers and devices, adhering to web accessibility standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, debug code, and optimize application performance for better user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to development best practices, and stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
