Front of House Security Officer

Location: London Bridge SE1

Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off mixture of days and nights.

Role Overview

We are looking for a professional and customer-focused Front of House Officer to join our team at a prestigious flagship building in the City of London. You will deliver an exceptional experience for staff, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a safe and secure environment. Working closely with security, facilities, cleaning, and catering teams, you will play a key role in providing outstanding customer service and supporting daily building operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that at all times you are correctly dressed in the appropriate uniform, in possession of relevant ID / SIA badges, have a signed out and tested radio.
  • Attend the morning briefing/handover at the commencement and end of each shift.
  • Control Access and Egress to the building by staff, contractors, and the general public providing assistance where needed and alerting the FCC of any potential or actual incidents.
  • Plan for and provide escorts for VIP visitors, liaising with Shift Supervisor and Security Managers.
  • Ensure the Main turnstile barriers are manned at all times.
  • Be aware of protest and demonstration procedures and respond as per required.
  • To actively take part in assisting staff, guests, and contractors, in regards to passing them information, giving direction, or responding to queries that are raised, to a professional standard.
  • Complete the recording of all daily events via the DOB (Daily Occurrence Book/MyTag) at the Shift Supervisors/Controllers request.
  • To make yourself fully conversant with the assignment instructions, post instructions, and any locally issued procedural updates.
  • To complete all forms of Incident Reporting as required to the agreed levels of content and clarity.
  • Ensure that correct time management is carried out in regards to the completion of all duty tasks prior to the end of the time period allocated to each post / patrol.
  • To undertake all special projects and duties as required by the Manager(s), Shift Supervisor(s), Administrator, and Controllers.
  • To ensure that client confidentiality is fully respected at all times, in relation to any client media (written, visual, electronic, or oral).
  • The reporting and initial response to any Security or Health and Safety policy violations or potential violations, including making line management aware as soon as possible.
  • Reporting immediately to the Shift Supervisor any action or inaction which compromises safety.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe place of work, ensuring all posts are in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
  • Report missing, damaged, or unserviceable equipment to Operations Managers.
  • Cooperate with Ward Security and the client so that the company can carry out its statutory duty under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and all relevant statutory provisions.
  • Display your SIA licence at all times while on duty.
  • Make enquiries and submit reports on incidents as instructed by the Site Management Team, Shift Supervisor, or Controller.
  • Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by Ward Security.

  • To positively participate in any staff welfare or development programmes.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request as required by the Client/Site Management Team/Security Administrator or Shift Supervisor.
  • The officer is expected to comply with and demonstrate a positive commitment to a high level in equal opportunities, occupational safety & health, performance development, customer service, professional presentation, and confidentiality throughout the course of their duties.
  • This job description is not exhaustive, and you may be required to carry out duties other than those specified.
  • This is a demanding site which requires officers to stand for extended periods of time (10hrs a day).

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and well-presented.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • SIA Door Supervisor licence (or willingness to obtain one).
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete training).
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, corporate, hospitality, or security role is desirable.
