We’re looking for a Porter to join our Front of House team based at The Lister Hospital. Working within one of the UK’s leading private healthcare facilities, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the hospital while helping to deliver an exceptional experience for patients, visitors, and colleagues.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll support departments across the hospital with portering, security, patient transport, and logistics duties, helping to ensure services run safely, smoothly, and efficiently at all times.

As a Porter you’ll provide professional support across the hospital environment, assisting patients and visitors while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence. From supporting emergency response teams and managing waste streams, to transporting patients and assisting with deliveries across site, your work will make a real difference to the overall patient journey.

You’ll become part of a collaborative and supportive team where professionalism, compassion, and teamwork are valued every day. Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Other’s may think this is just a role in our Front of House team, but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide a porter/security service to include delivery/collection of mail, linen, drugs, and other items as requested.
  • Assist patients with luggage and escort them to their rooms.
  • Check gauges and storage of gas bottles, changing them as necessary.
  • Inform patients of room facilities during room orientation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
