Front of House Receptionist (Temporary) Tuesday to Thursday for up to 5 months

We are looking for a professional, organised and personable Front of House Receptionist to join a busy office environment on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, can think on their feet and is passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in professional services or front-of-house environments including hotels, as well as students or individuals looking for a 3 days a week opportunity who possess strong communication skills, professionalism and empathy for others.

As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment while supporting meeting room operations, facilities and administrative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet visitors in a professional, friendly and approachable manner.
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience and go above and beyond to help visitors and colleagues.
  • Manage meeting room bookings and ensure rooms are prepared and ready for use.
  • Coordinate video conferencing facilities and presentation equipment.
  • Liaise with catering, facilities, maintenance and IT teams to ensure meetings run smoothly.
  • Support meeting organisers with room setup and catering requirements.
  • Assist with printing, scanning and document handling requests.
  • Monitor meeting room usage and help maintain booking schedules effectively.
  • Ensure reception and client areas remain tidy, presentable and fully stocked.
  • Manage deliveries and ensure items are passed to the correct recipients promptly.
  • Help visitors and colleagues with queries, troubleshooting and ad-hoc requests throughout the day.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, front-of-house or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with busy periods or challenging situations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Experience working in hotels, hospitality, events, conference facilities or corporate reception environments.
  • Experience using meeting room booking systems or video conferencing technology.
  • Experience coordinating meeting rooms, events, catering or visitor services.
  • Experience working in a professional office environment.
