Front of House Team Member / Receptionist
Location: Gosforth, Newcastle Contract: Permanent, Part-Time Hours: 14 hours per week Salary: Up to £26,707.20 per annum (pro rata)
About the Role
Our gym is looking for a welcoming and customer-focused individual to join our Front of House Team / Receptionist role. Your mission? To make every visitor feel valued and comfortable from the moment they step through our doors. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service while supporting the smooth operation of reception and café areas—ensuring a friendly, relaxing, and professional environment.
Confidence, empathy, and initiative are key. You’ll greet members, assist with queries, and provide a warm, helpful experience. Plus, as a member of our team, you’ll also support café operations with food and drink service.

Responsibilities
You’ll assist in the smooth running of our gym by:
- Delivering exceptional customer service, graciously assisting visitors with queries and ensuring they feel welcome and valued.
- Supporting the reception and café areas, from greeting members to assisting with everyday tasks.
- Creating a welcoming, professional, and relaxed atmosphere for everyone who uses our facilities.
- Providing assistance over the phone and face-to-face with clarity, kindness, and efficiency.
- Helping the café team prepare and serve fresh, healthy, and nutritious food and drinks.
- Ensuring smooth operations during busy times while maintaining a high standard of interpersonal communication.

Requirements
We need you to bring:
- Exceptional customer service skills with a keen sense of empathy for all members.
- Confident and professional communication abilities—both verbally and in writing.
- A warm, welcoming demeanour that instantly puts visitors at ease.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Teamwork and adaptability—flexible, proactive, and always willing to step up.
- High swimming ability (ongoing training is required to cover Lifeguard breaks).
