About the Role & Department
The Front Office Risk team is responsible for implementing effective First Line of Defense Economic Risk Management (ERM) within Wholesale. The team supervises the economic risk across all EMEA Global Markets business lines, including:
- Flow and Structured Rates
- FX & Emerging Markets
- Credit (Flow & Structured)
- Equity Products
- Lending
Responsibilities
The mid-senior level professional joining this role will oversee and execute the following responsibilities:
- Lead Market & Counterparty Risk analysis for EMEA business, ensuring they are identified, assessed, quantified, and escalated where necessary.
- Develop and write Python code for risk analysis, monitoring trading desks, and generating analytics.
- Conduct regular financial risk evaluations, including:
- Stress testing
- Concentration/Liquidity assessment
- Probability of Loss (PoL) Attribution
- Value at Risk (VaR) analysis
- Review market activity, risk profiles, and flashpoints in Trading Desks & Counterparty portfolios, articulating key risks and driving performance.
- Collaborate with traders, Corporate Risk, Risk Management, and Control functions to mitigate and reduce risks.
- Oversee stop-loss policies for EMEA traders, ensuring adherence to risk reduction guidelines.
- Enhance the risk platform by developing and raising new approaches to risk analysis, including improved stress/scenario and tooling capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong quantitative skills with knowledge of financial models and statistical analysis.
- Advanced Excel proficiency to handle complex financial data.
- Experience in Python coding for analytical purposes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent verbal & written communication, particularly in collaboration with trading teams and stakeholders.
- Proactive & detail-oriented self-starter with a strong can-do approach to risk management.
