Front Office Service Manager

Watford, Hertfordshire | 🕒 Full-Time, Permanent

Drive Service Excellence Across a Modern Enterprise IT Environment

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Front Office Service Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of end-user IT services within a large and complex enterprise environment.

This role is ideal for a service-focused IT leader who thrives on delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing supplier relationships, and driving operational excellence across:

  • Service Desk
  • Field Support
  • End User Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of front-office IT services.
  • Manage Service Desk and Field Support teams, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance the IT Service Catalogue and CMDB, ensuring accuracy and effective service transition.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and service performance through ITIL best practices.
  • Monitor and report against SLAs and KPIs, implementing service improvement initiatives where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Drive supplier governance and performance management within a multi-vendor environment.
  • Manage service budgets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Support IT asset management audits and compliance activities.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading End User Services, Service Desk, or Workplace Technology teams.
  • Strong background managing IT services in multi-vendor, outsourced, or managed service environments.
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL Service Management practices, including:
    • Incident Management
    • Problem Management
    • Change Management
  • Experience managing hardware and software asset lifecycles and software licensing compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive service improvement and operational performance.
  • Experience in managing suppliers, service reviews, and vendor performance.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • ITIL certification
  • Experience working within a SIAM (Service Integration and Management) environment
  • Knowledge of Service Catalogue and CMDB management
  • Budget management and financial accountability experience
  • Experience within a large-scale enterprise environment
