Senior Front Office Software Engineer – Python/React (Commodities Trading)
Orbis are partnering with a Commodities Trading firm to evolve their proprietary trading platforms. We’re seeking experienced Full Stack Software Engineers with expertise in Python and React to lead the next phase of their technology-driven strategy.
This is a high-impact opportunity to directly influence profitability (PnL), collaborating with Traders and the Front Office within a cutting-edge organisation that blends data, technology, and trading, supported by an elite team of technologists.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with Traders to develop performance-critical tools, writing clean, high-performance code
- Design innovative systems to optimise trading positions and deliver real-time insights crucial for Front Office decision-making
- Create cloud-native solutions, integrating with Front Office platforms to enhance analytics and trader-driven workflows
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Python with a deep knowledge of object-oriented design (OOP) and strong Computer Science fundamentals
- React experience, with a preference for candidates who have built responsively for complex financial workflows
- Prior industry experience in environments requiring peak performance: big tech, high-frequency trading (HFT), hedge funds, or similar elite environments
