Front-End Developer | ~£650/day Outside IR35 | London | 12-Month Contract

Industry: Trading

Location: London - 4 days in office

Job Type: Contract - 12-month initial

Our client, a leading commodity trading firm operating across global energy and commodities markets, is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join their trading technology team. You will work on developing high-performance, real-time user interfaces that present complex market data in a clear and intuitive way. You'll be responsible for building interactive applications, dashboards and visualisations that are used daily by traders and other front-office users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain sophisticated front-end applications using React.
  • Develop high-performance user interfaces for displaying real-time market data.
  • Build interactive dashboards, charting solutions and data visualisations.
  • Integrate and customise charting libraries, including TradingView where appropriate.
  • Consume and display live market data via WebSockets and APIs.
  • Work closely with traders, quantitative analysts and back-end engineers to deliver new functionality.
  • Optimise front-end applications for performance, scalability and responsiveness.
  • Contribute to UI architecture and continuously improve the user experience.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Proven experience building sophisticated front-end applications and user interfaces.
  • Experience developing real-time, data-driven applications.
  • Experience building market data visualisation tools, dashboards or charting applications.
  • Strong understanding of WebSockets, APIs and live data streaming.
  • Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and modern front-end architecture.
  • Experience optimising front-end performance for data-intensive applications.
  • Experience using Git and modern development workflows.

  • Experience within commodity trading, financial services, capital markets or fintech.
  • Experience working with high-frequency or low-latency applications.
  • TypeScript experience.
