Front End Software Developer (Maternity Cover) | 12-month contract | High-growth InsurTech | Remote (UK) | 65-70K
About the Company
As our Front End Software Developer you will be the creative and technical engine behind our client's user experience. They are looking for a skilled developer to step in and maintain the momentum of their product suite - ensuring the interfaces remain as sophisticated as the data powering them.
We’re a rapidly growing InsurTech firm specialising in geospatial data services. We help underwriting teams across insurance, finance, and logistics get the best possible risk ratings through innovative, actionable insights. We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing fresh ideas to the table while ensuring our existing users have a seamless, high-performance experience.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for the "face" of our technology. Working primarily with our React-based data and mapping applications, you’ll translate complex wireframes into elegant, reusable code. This isn’t just about following a spec; we want someone who seeks to understand user interactions deeply and identifies opportunities to make our products even better. From optimising performance across various browsers to collaborating on cutting-edge geospatial visualisations, you’ll be a key part of our agile team. You’ll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment where we rapidly iterate on solutions to meet the evolving needs of our global client base.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
