Frontend Developer (React)

Frontend Developer (React) - UK Remote Position

Our partner is seeking a Frontend Developer (React) based in the United Kingdom to build and maintain modern, user-facing web applications. This remote-first role focuses on creating reusable UI components, transforming complex product requirements, and delivering seamless end-to-end experiences with a strong emphasis on code quality, performance, and scalable architecture.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Partner closely with designers, backend engineers, and product teams
  • Ensure reliability of frontend systems through robust testing practices
  • Enjoy technical ownership, challenges, and building impactful products

Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable React frontend components using JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern best practices
  • Transform complex UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible, and performant web applications
  • Collaborate with design and backend teams for seamless integration and consistent UX
  • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and maintainability across devices
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold strong engineering standards
  • Maintain and evolve existing codebases while driving long-term stability
  • Implement and manage automated testing (Cypress, Playwright, Storybook, Chromatic)
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions (components, styling, state management)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of frontend development experience in:
    • React (Single-Page Application (SPA) architectures)
    • JavaScript/TypeScript
    • HTML5, CSS3
    • Modern styling methods (SCSS, CSS-in-JS, TailwindCSS)
  • Proficiency in:
    • GraphQL & Apollo for data management and API integration
    • Scalable frontend systems in production
  • Experience with:
    • Component-driven development and design systems (e.g., Ant Design)
    • Visual regression testing (Cypress, Playwright, Storybook, Chromatic)
    • Performance optimization & cross-browser debugging
  • Bonus points for:
    • CI/CD workflows
    • Remote-first collaboration
