This high-impact Frontend Engineer role is designed for a developer specialising in building fast, intuitive, and scalable user experiences for AI-powered automation platforms transforming the insurance sector. Based in the United Kingdom (fully remote), this position sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and AI, requiring technical excellence and a keen eye for usability and performance in complex, data-heavy interfaces.
About the Role
You will contribute to cutting-edge web applications that streamline quotations, policy issuance, claims processing, and customer operations. Working closely with product teams, backend engineers, and design stakeholders, your role involves translating AI and backend capabilities into seamless, human-friendly interfaces. This hands-on, product-driven environment prioritises engineering impact on user experience and business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimise modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript to deliver high-performance, scalable experiences.
- Develop both customer-facing insurance products and internal AI-driven operational tools for workflow automation.
- Transform product requirements and UX designs into responsive, intuitive, and high-performance interfaces.
- Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs and AI services to enable end-to-end workflow automation.
- Drive continuous improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability through optimisation.
- Design reusable UI components and contribute to a scalable frontend architecture.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices across the team.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA teams in a distributed working environment.
- Contribute to technical decision-making, including frontend tooling and architecture evolutions.

Requirements
Technical Proficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven expertise in building production-grade frontend applications with:
- React and TypeScript (core frameworks).
- Next.js (or similar: Vue, Angular).
- HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
- Experience with:
- REST API integration in production-grade environments.
- Component-based architecture and scalable frontend patterns.
- Frontend performance optimisation and debugging in production.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern software development practices.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Problem-solving orientated, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
- Adaptability for fast-paced, product-driven environments.
