Frontend Engineer II – Accounts & Business Team

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer II to join our Accounts team and Business team.

The Accounts team modernises the core of the Octopus Energy digital experience, focusing on:
- Seamless self-serve journeys—billing, statements, tariff management, and renewals
- Effortless digital payment structures
- Accessible, performant web experiences to free up energy specialists for vulnerable customer support

Responsibilities

Ownership & Problem-Solving:
- Translate complex problems (not just requirements) into strong technical solutions
- Drive full development cycles—from request to deployment and monitoring
- Tackle large-scale tasks independently
- Collaborate while delegating work with empathy and clarity

Frontend Development Excellence:
- Build fully accessibility-compliant websites
- Focus on scalability, performance, and scalability to handle high traffic

Tech Leadership:
- Influence designs for clearer, smoother UX
- Work across teams across marketing, operations, and data
Requirements
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in frontend development, using one or more of our stack technologies:

- React
- TypeScript (desirable)
- Next.js on Vercel (desirable)
- GraphQL with Apollo (desirable)
- React Testing Library & Playwright
