About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer within JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate Technology division. In this role, you will be an essential member of an agile team dedicated to designing, developing, and delivering reliable, scalable, and secure technology products that support the firm’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for leading critical technology solutions across multiple domains, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and engaging with external vendors and startups to evaluate and incorporate innovative technologies. Your expertise will help shape the future of our technology landscape, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practices
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Experience with automation tools and continuous delivery methodologies
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience setting up and utilizing React as a micro-frontend container
  • Technical expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile applications
  • In-depth understanding of the financial services industry and its IT systems
  • Experience working with UX/UI teams and developing user-facing applications
  • Practical cloud-native development experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions beyond routine approaches to address complex technical challenges
  • Develop and review secure, high-quality production code, ensuring adherence to best practices and debugging as necessary
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues, enhancing operational stability and efficiency
  • Lead technical evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
  • Drive awareness and adoption of new and emerging technologies through communities of practice across Software Engineering
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI teams to develop engaging, user-friendly experiences
  • Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and mutual respect
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, ensuring timely delivery of features and improvements
  • Maintain a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and implement best practices accordingly
