Frontline Bus & Truck Technician
Frontline Vehicle Technician – Entry-Level
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our Frontline Vehicle Technician team, working Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm), with periodic weekend cover as part of a call-out rota. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to support customer service in designated areas.
Responsibilities
The role blends frontline customer support with mechanic duties at one of our depots. Key tasks include:
- Providing Volvo Frontline Support for customers in a specified geographical area, including trucks, buses, coaches, and other commercial vehicles.
- Performing diagnosis, maintenance, servicing, testing, and repairs on vehicles when off-frontline.
- Completing warranty, contract, and retail paperwork to ensure accurate records.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to reduce customer costs.
- Maintaining a professional, friendly, and efficient demeanour when interacting with customers and colleagues.

Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications
- City & Guilds Level 3 in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Full and current UK driving licence, with an HGV licence being advantageous.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in vehicle diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong organisational, methodical, problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Completion of manufacturer training courses and commitment to ongoing technical learning.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong job card write-up capabilities.
