Warehouse Operative (Noon/Night Shift)
Our business provides a next day supply and distribution service through a nationwide network of distribution depots, serving an average of 2750 customers daily.
About the Role
Working at NVS, one of the UK’s leading veterinary wholesalers, you’ll be part of a dynamic team ensuring precise, next-day deliveries across our vast product range of 16,000+ veterinary items (plus specials).

Main Purpose
As a Warehouse Operative, your role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality order fulfilment for our veterinary customers—from picking and preparing pharmaceuticals, instruments, pet products and accessories to maintaining compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for next-day despatch.

Key Responsibilities
CoreWarehouseOperations & Picking Care include:
- Picking and collecting pharmaceuticals, controlled drugs, temperature-sensitive items (2–8°C), bulk goods, cytotoxic and hazardous materials using paper-based pick notes.
- Performing manual handling (up to 16 kg), including work at height and below knee level.
- Replenishing stock levels as required.
- Checking orders, including inputting batching details to track stock post-dispatch.
- Ensuring secure packing to prevent damage to goods.
- Operating LLOP, pump trucks (electric and manual) and HLOP.
- Loading vehicles for transformation operations.
Further Duties (General & Supportive)
- Contributing to a clean-as-you-go work environment.
- Working flexibly to assist other teams where needed.
- Adhering to Health & Safety (H&S) regulations.
- Conducting basic IT tasks.
- Operating in fridges as required.
- Using opportunities to suggest process improvements.

Requirements & Desired Traits
Experience & Qualifications
- No experience required but warehouse familiarity would be advantageous.
- GCSEs in English and Maths at grades D-G or equivalent (desirable).

- Physically demanding role involving operational rotation across warehouse operations (including fridges).
