We are looking to recruit a Bus Shunter/Fueller to join our team at Morecambe. At the end of a busy day in service, our vehicles return to the depot and into the experienced hands of our Fueller / Shunters and that's where you will come in. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles are clean, fuelled and ready for the following day. This will involve safely moving vehicles around the depot, so for anyone considering a bus driving career this is a great way to start.

Requirements:

  • Numeracy skills are a must, dealing with fleet numbers, fuel & AdBlue quantities.
  • Comfortable working in all weathers on a rotating shift pattern.
  • Be physically able to prepare our vehicles for the following day.

Shift pattern - Full time late shift, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Refuel the vehicles on their return to the depot
  • Ensure the vehicle's interior meets our high standard of cleanliness
  • Wash the vehicle exterior

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
