A mission-critical mission-critical, post-trade application within the Power Operations team is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer.
About the Role
High-performing Power Operations team This full-stack development role demands expertise in C# .NET, Angular, and modern cloud-based engineering to work on a business-critical post-trade system. Responsibilities include:
- Developing new features
- Enhancing existing functionality
- Ensuring stability, scalability, and long-term maintainability
The team is expanding with a renewed focus on permanent engineering rather than contractor reliance. This long-term, mid-level role supports:
- A developer seeking growth within a modern energy trading environment
- Participation in a promising, evolving platform alongside two existing engineers
The Team’s Scope
Located at the heart of post-trade workflows, the IT Delivery team manages:
- Power trade capture & operational controls (scheduling, nominations, confirmations, settlements)
- Backend .NET services for mission-critical trading processes
- Front-end Angular applications for traders and operations
- Data-driven workflows (SQL Server, Oracle, Azure)
- Multi-asset energy products lifecycle tools & bespoke post-trade ageing advancements

Responsibilities
As the third engineer, you’ll contribute to:

A robust tech stack:
💻 C# | .NET | Angular | TypeScript | SQL Server | Oracle | Azure | AWS | Kafka | Azure Service Bus

Full-stack development:
- Develop new features across .NET & Angular
- Maintain & enhance mission-critical post-trade applications
- Deliver clean, maintainable, testable code via CI/CD
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, traders, and operations teams

Modern engineering focus:
- Optimise and scale the platform via a long-term roadmap
- Adopt specification-driven practices & modernisation strategies
- Support knowledge retention and engineering growth
Required Experience
To succeed in this mid-level role with a fast-paced trading environment:
- Strong.NET expertise: Build, enhance, and debug COM commercial applications configured via XML-schemas or JSON exchange.
- Angular proficiency (vs React): experience building scalable frontend systems
- Full-stack architecture: ability to work seamlessly across frontend/backend/data infrastructure
- Experience with SQL Serve or Oracle and cloud-based infrastructures (Azure/AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with data virtualisation (FDX Technology), AI/agentic workflows
- Self-driven problem-solver with a collaborative mindset
- Vast exposure to trading-adjacent environments (financial/energy)

Nice to Have
While not essential, these skills would strengthen your fit:
- Experience with trading domain: trading systems / financial markets
- Familiarity with Azure ecosystems or cloud-native tooling
- Previous bespoke application development for enterprise-scale systems
Experience Level
While an average of 5 years’ experience is ideal, we prioritise deep technical capability and effective skills:
- Strong code-quality standards & cross-team collaboration
- Sound grasp of development patterns and best practices
- Eagerness to mentor junior team members and upskill
