We are based in Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom, with projects and operations extending to Bridgwater and the wider region. Selling jewellery is the bread and butter of the business however our backend system is whats helping us scale and grow efficiently, offering opportunities to work with contemporary web technologies. Team members collaborate closely on-site, contributing to a practical and delivery-focused culture. Applicants can expect a setting where technical skills, initiative, and problem-solving are valued and developed.
Outrage London is looking for an experienced Lead Software Developer & Technical Operations Manager to take full technical ownership of our rapidly growing internal software platform.
Our internal application is becoming a critical part of the business and our day-to-day operations. The platform currently supports multiple areas of the company, including stock management, staff management, tasks and workflows, internal communications, scheduling, payroll administration, complaints, performance tracking and wider business operations.
As the platform becomes increasingly important to the company, we are looking for someone to take control of the technical operation, architecture, security and future development of the system. This is not a role for someone who simply waits for development tickets. We want someone who can understand how our business operates, identify weaknesses and inefficiencies, and actively build systems that make the company faster, more secure and more scalable.
The Main Focus
Your first major focus will be to lead the development of a complete stock management and inventory intelligence system. We want to build a system that gives the business complete visibility over stock, purchasing and product performance. This will include stock levels, stock movements, sales velocity, product performance, forecasting, low-stock warnings, purchasing requirements and advanced inventory analytics. The goal is to allow management to make data-driven stock and purchasing decisions rather than relying on manual spreadsheets, assumptions or disconnected systems. You will also build and manage API integrations with the marketplaces, sales channels and third-party platforms we operate across, helping us centralise more of the business within our internal software.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full technical ownership of our internal business application.
- Lead and manage the ongoing development of the platform.
- Build a complete stock management and inventory analytics system.
- Develop stock forecasting, sales velocity and purchasing intelligence tools.
- Create advanced management dashboards and business analytics.
- Build and maintain API integrations with sales channels and third-party platforms.
- Create reliable systems for syncing orders, products, customers and stock data.
- Review the existing codebase and technical architecture.
- Manage and review work completed by offshore and external development teams.
- Introduce strict code review and approval processes.
- Implement professional development, testing and deployment procedures.
- Improve application performance, reliability and scalability.
- Maintain technical documentation for all critical systems.
- Develop backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure the company maintains complete control and ownership of its infrastructure, source code and technical assets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who thinks like a technical owner rather than a task-based developer. You should be comfortable taking an existing application, understanding how it works and developing a clear technical roadmap for improving its architecture, security and scalability. You must be able to communicate technical risks and decisions in straightforward language to company management. You will also need to confidently manage, review and control development work completed by offshore and external development teams. The right person will become a key technical decision-maker within Outrage London and take increasing ownership of our technology operation as the company grows.
