Who Are We

BIMCO is the world’s largest international shipping association, representing shipowners, operators, managers, brokers and agents across the globe. For more than a century, we have helped shape the maritime industry by developing standards, contracts, insights and digital solutions that support global trade.

In an industry where technology, AI and digital innovation are continuously reshaping how organizations operate, staying curious, adaptable and ahead of emerging trends is more important than ever. At BIMCO, we embrace new tools, modern development practices and emerging technologies to deliver better solutions for our members and customers. Our IT team develops and maintains the systems, platforms and digital products that power key services across the organization and the wider maritime industry, while constantly exploring new ways to enhance how we build, deliver and operate software.

We are a collaborative, international workplace where expertise is valued, ideas are encouraged, and people are trusted to take ownership. If you enjoy solving complex challenges, working with modern technology, and contributing to products with real-world impact, we would love to hear from you.

Why This Role Is Important for Us

As a Full-Stack Developer at BIMCO, you will play a key role in delivering and evolving the digital solutions that support both our internal operations and our commercial products.

You will work on a diverse portfolio of systems, including our CRM platform, public website, and industry-leading products such as SmartCon and SHIP PI. Working across the full technology stack, you will help design, build and maintain reliable, secure and scalable applications that serve thousands of users worldwide.

This role combines hands-on software development with close collaboration across internal teams and external development partners. As we continue our modernization journey—including GitHub-based development, CI/CD adoption, and the integration of AI-powered development tools—you will have the opportunity to influence how we build software and improve engineering practices across the organization.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Design, develop, test and maintain solutions across BIMCO’s core systems, including our CRM, website and digital products
  • Build and integrate REST APIs and services that connect internal platforms, third-party applications and external partners
  • Work across front-end, back-end and database layers to deliver reliable and scalable software solutions
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, stakeholders and external development partners to plan, deliver and support new functionality
  • Contribute to the ongoing modernization of our development practices, including GitHub adoption, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, software quality and developer experience
  • Support the security, performance, availability and reliability of BIMCO’s applications and services
  • Participate in troubleshooting, maintenance and continuous improvement activities across our technology landscape.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
