Full Stack Engineer Internship — Valora

Valora is a Birmingham-based fintech startup building a financial intelligence platform for UK SMEs, helping non-finance founders make informed decisions around cash flow, forecasting, and overall business health through clear, plain-English insights.

We are looking to bring on a Software Developer Intern to support our engineering work as we continue building out our platform.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who can take initiative and contribute meaningfully to our engineering efforts. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, is comfortable learning on the job, and wants exposure to how a startup builds and ships product in the early stages.

Role overview:

  • Contribute to the development of live product features
  • Collaborate on backend and database-related work including access control and data handling
  • Work directly alongside our co-founder and technical lead on real, shipped functionality

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
