As a trusted partner at the heart of the global financial system, BNY helps safeguard, manage, and service nearly 20% of the world's investable assets, supporting financial institutions, corporations, governments, and individual investors worldwide. The company fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture where continuous learning, leadership development, and innovation are central to long-term success.

About the Role

BNY is seeking an experienced Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to lead high-performing software engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications. This leadership role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, architecture, and strategic delivery ownership. You will oversee the complete software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and solution architecture to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement—while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with product, operations, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with deep expertise in Java-based distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, DevOps practices, AI-assisted software development, and modern full-stack application development within agile environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing software engineering teams while fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise software solutions, including requirements analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based applications.
  • Drive engineering excellence through coding standards, architecture best practices, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps automation.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, UX Designers, Business Analysts, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead application modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, containerization, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Oversee API development, integration strategies, and enterprise system interoperability.
  • Promote secure software development through threat modeling, security reviews, logging, monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and incident management.
  • Guide technical debt reduction and continuous platform optimization.
  • Represent engineering teams during governance reviews, technical steering committees, and executive stakeholder meetings.
  • Support compliance, operational risk management, and regulatory requirements within financial services environments.
  • Encourage continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
