Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Contract - AI

Rate: £600/day (Outside IR35)
Location: UK - Remote/Hybrid (adjust to client HQ as needed)
Duration: 6 months initial, likely extension
Start: ASAP

Our client is building a suite of LLM-powered autonomous agents to automate internal workflows. They're looking for a senior full-stack contractor with strong React/Node fundamentals and hands-on experience building production agentic systems not just prompting a chatbot, but designing tool-use pipelines, orchestration logic, and reliable agent-to-agent workflows.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong commercial experience with React (hooks, state management, TypeScript)
  • Strong commercial experience with Node.js (API design, async workflows)
  • Demonstrable experience building LLM-powered applications or agents (function calling, RAG, orchestration frameworks e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom-built)
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM evaluation techniques
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous product environment

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
  • Python exposure (many agent frameworks are Python-first)
