Full Stack Engineer
Full-Stack Engineer (AI-Native / Backend-Led)
Location: London, Hybrid Salary: Up to £80,000 + Discretionary Bonus
We're collaborating with a well-funded, founder-led startup specialising in sports-tech. The co-founders are domain experts backed by specialists in AI and SaaS, constructing ground-breaking intelligent content infrastructure. This is an AI-native, architecture-led position that goes beyond traditional full-stack expectations. Success here depends on operational expertise in AI tooling, agent management, and high-trust technical ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own the entire end-to-end delivery pipeline, covering backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Design and scale real-time data pipelines and event-driven systems from the ground up.
- Embed LLM APIs and AI tooling into the core product workflows.
- Drive technical direction and own deployments in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to critical architecture decisions in an iterative, engineering-driven culture.

Key Requirements
✔ Event-driven systems expert: Deep, hands-on experience with Kafka and related architectures (core to this role). ✔ Polyglot proficiencies:
- Java 21 (backend anchor)
- Node.js, Python, or Go (additional experience a plus) ✔ Hands-on production experience integrating LLM APIs and AI agent tooling (e.g., multi-agent orchestration, retrieval augmentation, or microservice-based pipelines). ✔ Full-stack delivery proficiency (can ideate, build, and deploy from frontend to infrastructure). ✔ Commitment to engineering excellence—clean code, robust testing, thorough documentation, performance optimisation, and security.

Desirable (More Good to Haves)
✅ Experience with streaming processors like Flink or Spark. ✅ Strong SolidJS or equivalent expertise (React/Vue/Svelte) with willingness to adopt new tech stacks. ✅ Domain familiarity with:
- Sports-tech or live event data pipelines
- Managed streaming/video workflows ✅ Background in data architecture and scaling high-throughput systems.
Details
- Compensation: Up to £80,000 base salary + discretionary bonus.
- Flexibility: Hybrid; 2-3 days in-office in London.
- Contract: Permanent role.
