About the Role

We’re looking for a full-stack engineer to help shape and evolve a custom production platform for film, visual development, and AI-assisted creative workflows. The platform supports storyboarding, scene planning, visual research, asset libraries, review notes, approvals, image/video workflows, versioning, and artist handoff packages. It is used by directors, artists, researchers, and production teams to coordinate creative work around fast-moving AI video pipelines.

This is a hands-on engineering role with meaningful product ownership. You’ll be expected to understand the workflow, improve the architecture, ship features quickly, and keep the platform robust as the creative and AI tooling landscape evolves.

A background in graphics, VFX, animation, film, games, creative tooling, or technical art would be highly valuable.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve core areas of a full-stack creative production platform.
  • Design and implement features across React, TypeScript, backend APIs, database state, uploads, and media/file handling.
  • Improve workflows for storyboarding, research, asset review, scene stills, video clips, approvals, notes, and handoff packages.
  • Refactor thoughtfully as the product grows, keeping the system maintainable and reliable.
  • Work closely with creative/product feedback and translate real production needs into polished tools.
  • Use AI coding tools heavily to accelerate exploration, implementation, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Maintain a high bar for code quality, type safety, UX, and product stability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Required Skills

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript and React.
  • Experience with Next.js or similar full-stack React frameworks.
  • Solid backend experience with APIs, databases, file uploads, server-side application logic, and application state.
  • Comfortable working with image and video assets in web applications.
  • Proven ability to evolve an existing product without destabilizing it.
  • Strong product and UI/UX judgment, especially for professional tools.
  • Heavy daily use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar.
  • Good architectural instincts: able to move fast while keeping the codebase clean and coherent.

Nice To Have

  • Background in graphics, VFX, animation, film, games, motion design, technical art, or creative technology.
  • Experience building tools for artists, producers, editors, directors, researchers, or production teams.
  • Familiarity with AI video, generative media, multimodal creative workflows, or creative pipeline tooling.
  • Experience with FFmpeg, thumbnails, video proxies, image processing, or media pipelines.
  • Understanding of creative review workflows: notes, approvals, sign-offs, versioning, and handoff packages.

Ideal Candidate

You are a senior, AI-native engineer who can take ownership of complex product areas and ship with pace and judgment. You use tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex as part of your normal workflow, but you bring the engineering maturity to review, refine, and own the code that gets shipped. You are comfortable improving architecture while continuing to deliver practical features for real users. You care about creative tools, visual workflows, and building software that helps directors, artists, and production teams work faster and with more clarity.
