Full Stack Engineer
Senior Software Engineering Lead
About the Role
Lead and develop inclusive, high-performing engineering teams, setting clear objectives and fostering succession planning.
- Own end-to-end delivery for critical software, spanning:
- Requirements analysis
- Architecture design
- Implementation
- Testing
- Deployment
- Reliability assurance
- Elevate engineering standards through best practices, automation, and secure-by-design principles.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to:
- Translate business outcomes into executable technical strategies
- Guide architecture modernisation and cloud adoption
- Represent engineering in cross-functional reviews and governance forums, ensuring:
- Compliance and risk management
- Operational excellence

- Proven leadership in managing software engineering teams specialising in:
- Distributed systems (10+ years preferred)
- Microservices architectures in Agile environments
- Technical expertise with:
- Java/Spring at core architecture and system design level
- Strong bytecode analysis, knowledge of JVM internals, and architecture patterns for scalable, observable, and testable systems
- Fields of expertise including service mesh, event-driven systems, and distributed transactions
- Experience in API design with a focus on security, standards, and scalability
- DevOps proficiency in:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Automated testing and code reviews
- Telemetry and observability
- Containerisation (Docker)
- Cloud experience (AWS/GCP preferred)
- Hands-on AI development using modern tools and IDEs, including:
- AI model integration into product workflows (LLMs for production-level use cases)
- Next-generation security mindset, including threat modelling and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalents)
- Stakeholder sway and technical storytelling: Simplify complexity for C-level audiences to secure alignment on technical strategy. Drive continuous improvement.
- Financial/regulatory background:
- Clear track record in risk management, controls, and software in regulated environments is a plus
