Full Stack Software Engineer - Tech for Good

Bristol - Hybrid (3 days per week)

£55,000-£70,000

One of our BEST tech for good clients are continuing to grow their engineering team with the addition of a Full Stack Software Engineer in their Bristol office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a strong engineering culture, where you'll work with modern technologies, contribute to technical decisions, and collaborate with talented Product, Design, and Engineering teams. With significant investment in cloud, AI, and engineering best practices, you'll have plenty of opportunity to learn, develop, and influence the products you build.

The Role

You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, building new features, improving existing products, and delivering reliable, scalable applications. Working in a cross-functional Agile team, you'll be encouraged to take ownership, share ideas, and continuously improve the way software is delivered.

You'll be joining a collaborative delivery team working on a range of technology projects, building and enhancing modern applications using Spring, Java, and React/Typescript. Much of the work involves designing backend services, integrating with data sources, and developing scalable solutions, while still contributing to frontend features where required.

You'll work closely with other engineers, helping deliver high-quality software using modern engineering practices, automated testing, and AI-assisted development tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Commercial React experience
  • Experience building REST APIs and microservices
  • Experience working on data-focused or data-intensive projects
  • PostgreSQL or similar relational database experience
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and CI/CD
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for building high-quality software
