Backend Engineer
£550–£560 per day | 6-Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote (UK)
We're partnering with a well-known UK brand that is looking to bring an experienced Backend Engineer on board for an initial 6-month contract.
This is an opportunity to work on high-profile digital products used by millions of customers, joining an established engineering team focused on building scalable, cloud-native backend services that power web and mobile applications.

What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Developing robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support customer-facing applications.
- Building secure, resilient and high-performing cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Collaborating with frontend, mobile and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.
- Optimising application performance, reliability and scalability.
- Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code while contributing to engineering best practices.
- Participating in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions.

What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience as a Backend Engineer.
- Expert knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing and building scalable APIs and backend services.
- Strong experience working with AWS in production environments.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and CI/CD.
- Experience working within agile delivery teams.
- Experience working on AI-powered products, integrating AI services, or building AI-enabled features would be a strong advantage.

Contract Details
- Day Rate: £550–£560 per day
- Contract Length: 6 Months
- Location: Fully Remote (UK)
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Eligibility: Applicants must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
